Theodore “Ted” Ronald Stearns, Sr., 79, of Paddy Hollow Road in Claremont, NH died on Friday, October 3, 2014 at his home.

He was born in Unity, NH on February 20, 1935 the son of Frank Howard and Josephine Edith (Pond) Stearns.

He was a graduate of Windsor High School in the class of 1954. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Air Force.

Ted worked for Plainfield Oil Company, Klevbro Shoe Co. of Derry, Joy Manufacturing, Sullivan Machine Company and lastly Palatek Machine.

 He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1201, Legion Post #29, Knights of Columbus and the Southern Vermont Old Time Fiddlers.

Ted enjoyed cooking and baking breads, traveling and playing the guitar. He played with Woody and the Ramblers, Country Express & Cross River Band and was currently a lead guitarist and vocalist for The String Alongs. He played for many organizations, groups and facilities.

He was the widower of Lucille Lois (Marsh) Stearns who died on October 22, 1992.

The family includes his wife, Irene Andriski of Claremont; two sons, Theodore R. Stearns Jr. and his wife, Donna of Canaan and Brian Stearns and his wife, Donna of Northboro, MA; a daughter, Brenda Hastings and her husband, Clint of Charlestown; five grandchildren, Brianna Stearns, Ryan Stearns, Matthew Stearns, Josh Stearns and Courtney Stearns; two great grandchildren, Carter and Ryleigh Stearns; four step children, Michael Andriski and his wife, Debbie, Brenda Andriski, Robert Andriski and Bonnie Dyke and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers, William “Roger” Stearns, Raymond Stearns and Donald Stearns and two sisters, Florence Magoon and Doris Shute and a grandson, Brian Sean Patrick.

Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Monday evening, October 6th from 5 to 7PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church on Tuesday morning at 11AM with Father George Makja officiating.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery with military honors.
