Timmy Fischer, 54, of Charlestown, died unexpectedly at his home Friday, February 28, 2014.

He was born October 8, 1959, in Portland, ME, to James and Althea Fischer and lived most of his life in Charlestown.

Timmy had many occupations in his lifetime, the common thread among them was a reliance on his innate physical and mechanical abilities; farmer, mechanic, carpenter.  He used all the tools he had – his wit, his huge physical strength, his stamina, his stubbornness, and his humility – to make a living for his family.

For many years, Tim was a Volunteer Firefighter, both in Charlestown and in West Windsor, VT, where he worked at the time.  He also volunteered as a Boy Scout leader for several years.

Tim had many interests; hunting, fishing, camping, guns, trucks, gardening, and he was especially renown for making pickles; but he didn’t pursue these things to get away from his family, he seemed to only have interest in things he could share with them.

It cannot be expressed how much Timmy loved his family – both his immediate and extended family were simply the center of his world.  And even though he was a man of few words, he made sure his family always knew that.

Timmy is survived by Sharron Fischer, his wife of 30 years; by his parents, James and Althea Fischer of Charlestown; by his children and grandchildren, Wade Smith of Franklin, CT, Jonathan Fischer of Middletown, CT, Chelsea Fischer and her daughter, Abigale of Charlestown, Andrew Fischer of Charlestown, and Jeremy Fischer and his daughter, Adalyn of Claremont; by his three brothers and two sisters; and by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in ME and NH.

There will be a family and friends memorial and celebration of life on March 15th from 1PM-4PM at the Charlestown Old Town Hall on Summer Street in Charlestown.

Arrangements are with the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street, Charlestown, NH.
