Arthur W. Blake, Jr. 82, of Plainfield, NH died on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Elm Wood Center in Claremont.

He was born in Wolfeboro, NH on January 11, 1933 the son of Arthur and Emma (Ryan) Blake.

He served in the US Air Force.

Arthur worked at and retired from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.

His hobby was designing and building houses. He enjoyed dancing and had a keen interest in airplanes and flying.

Arthur enjoyed spending time with his family.

The family includes his four daughters, Pamela Osgood and her partner, Larry Place of Windsor, VT, Shari Nelson and her husband, Carl of Waverly, MN, Lisa Blodgett and her husband, Cliff of Windsor, VT and Kelly Conroy and her husband, Justin of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his brothers, Henry Blake of Claremont, John Blake and his partner, Joyce of Sutton, Albert Blake and his wife, Betty of Claremont; his sister, Beverly Perrin and her husband, Elliot of Charlestown also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Evelyn Casella Provencher in 2013.

Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Sunday, May 17th from 2 to 4PM.  

Funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday morning at 11AM with Priscilla Hull officiating. Interment will follow in St Mary Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Common Man Restaurant on Water Street in Claremont.
