Carey Stevens Crossman, 87, formerly of Claremont, passed away at his home in Hooksett surrounded by his family.

He was born in Claremont, NH on October 30, 1927 the son of Harold and Marjorie (Stevens) Crossman.

Carey was a 1945 Graduate of Stevens High School.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy.

Carey had worked for various stores as a meat cutter for over 40 years.

He was a Past Commander of the American Legion.

The family includes his wife of 66 years, Agnes M. (Crowe) Crossman whom he married on February 19, 1949; two sons, Stephen Crossman and his wife, Alison of Claremont, Michael Crossman and his wife, Theresia of Manchester; two daughters, Karen Gardner of Madbury and Kathy Couitt of Claremont; one brother, Robert A. Crossman of Apopka, FL; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by one brother, Harold Crossman, Jr.; two sisters, Ann L. Anderson and Patricia Perreault; one granddaughter, Heather Gardner; one grandson, Christopher Crossman and one son-in-law, Philip Couitt.

At his request there will be no public visiting hours of funeral services.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104 or to the Parkinson’s Center, DHMC, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756.
