David Allen Haynes peacefully went home to be with his Savior on
February 8th, 2015. He was born in Keene, NH on December
17th,1927, the son of Joseph and Esther (Maynard) Haynes, and has
resided in Claremont most of his life. He married his sweetheart, Nellie
Louise Clark, July 8th, 1951, and they enjoyed 63 years
together.
He was a self-employed dairy farmer until 1993 when he handed over the
beautiful farm to his oldest son John and his wife Beth.
He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, serving in
many capacities including deacon, Sunday School teacher, and
superintendent. He also was a member of the Farm Bureau.
He is predeceased by his wife Nellie, a brother Phillip Haynes of
Claremont, and a sister Martha Thornhill of Montville, ME. His surviving
family includes three sons John and Peter both of Claremont and Thomas
of Wetumpka, AL, and five daughters, Ruth, missionary in Uganda, Africa;
Sharon Cota of Burnham, ME; Diana Cameron of New Brunswick, Canada;
Susanna Kresina of Garland, ME; and Judith Sherburne of Durham, ME.
His surviving family also includes 24 grandchildren, 32
great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, 97 Maple
Avenue in Claremont, NH with Pastor Stephen Cook officiating on
Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that memorial gifts in David's honor may be given to the work
Ruth is doing in Uganda with the Values Education Class project. Gifts
may be given through Calvary Baptist Church. |
