Doris Yvette Soboll, age 89, died peacefully on Sunday, January 4th in her home, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born in Claremont on April 28, 1925 to Emile and Rosia (Bernard) Angers.  Doris was married on June 26, 1948 to Edward P. Soboll – a union of 66 years – and had two children.   She attended St. Mary’s School and worked at the Claremont International Shoe Company.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and St. Joseph’s Church in Claremont.

She was pre-deceased by her parents and one sister, Rachael Ferry and husband, Hiram Ferry. 

The family includes her husband Edward P. Soboll of Claremont; two daughters, Constance Soboll-Mueller and husband, Mark Mueller, their two children, Nicolai and John Joseph all of Morristown, NJ and Joanne Soboll and her partner, Patrick Kraal of New York, NY; one niece, Donna Christy of Lebanon, NH and her husband, Stephen Christy, their two children, Kenneth and Melissa.

Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who touched the lives of the many people who knew her and cared for her.

She loved cooking, baking and was an avid seamstress.  Together with her husband, she enjoyed music, ballroom dancing and travel – particularly cruises, and caring for her beloved cat.

Doris could light up a room with her smile and sense of humor, and will be missed by many.

Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St., Claremont, NH from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, January 9th.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church in Claremont on Saturday, January 10th with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Officiating.

Burial will be held in the spring in St. Mary Cemetery.
