Henry (Hank) Gogan, of Claremont, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at DHMC after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.  He was born August, 15, 1941 to Arthur Gogan and Bernice Seaberg Gogan in Brockton, Mass.  He graduated from Brockton High School in 1959 and worked for First National Stores as a produce clerk.  In October of 1961 he joined the US Air Force and was a morse code interceptor, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.

          Hank worked as a warehouse manager for J. Homestock Furniture in Enfield, CT, was a Grocery store manager for P&C Foods and Assistant Store manager for Hannafords.  After retiring, Hank worked as a special education para educator at the Claremont MIddle School and Stevens HIgh School until 2014.  He was known by his students as “Pops”. Hank was also an avid sports fan, whether it was Red Sox, Bruins or Celtics or his own children or grandchildrens games.

          Hank leaves his wife of 54 years, Joyce Bryant Gogan and his 4 children; Daniel and his wife Tracey of Wells, Maine, Jennifer and her husband Chuck Ferland of Claremont, NH, Julie Cotrupi of Dover, NH and Christopher and his wife Kim of Claremont, NH.  He also leaves 7 grandchildren, Ryan Hoyt, Ryan Melcher, Gregory Charest, Dallas Cotrupi, Emily Charest, Lilly Gogan and CJ Gogan. four step grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, Mason and Payton Ferland and Colby James Charest and Marley Bridge.  He also leaves a brother Arthur (Ted) Gogan of Kentucky, a sister Jean Dahl of Maine and brother Dennis Gogan of Arizona, brother in law Gary Bryant and his wife Jane, Douglas Bryant, and sister in law Barbara Bryant, along with many nieces and nephews.  Hank was predeceased by his parents and brothers David of California and George of Arizona, and also his brother in law Donald Bryant of Florida.

          Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont, NH on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 6 - 8PM.  He will be buried at the Veterans cemetery in Boscawen, NH surrounded by family.

In lieu of flowers the donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or to the Stevens High School Athletic Department.
