Lorraine Victoria Shupenko, 89, of Front Street in Claremont, passed
away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Sullivan County Health Care in
Unity, NH.
She was born in Claremont on September 5, 1925, the daughter of Victor
and Adela (Gierko) Kolenda.
Lorraine had worked as an office clerk at W.T. Grant Company in the
1960’s and 1970’s and on the assembly line at Holson for more than 10
years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Claremont Senior Center.
Lorraine was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed cats.
She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
Lorraine is the widow of Victor E. Shupenko who died on July 24, 1973.
The family includes one daughter, Victoria Warley and her husband, Steve
of Burlington, VT; one son, Paul Shupenko of Claremont; two
grandchildren, Jessica Warley and her husband, Jonathan Bruce of
Underhill, VT and Christine Swing and her husband, Lee of Asheville, NC;
two great grandchildren, Nick and Lily Swing.
She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Alfred Kolenda, Charles Kolenda
and Chester Kolenda and one sister, Josephine Shields.
There will be no visiting hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning, March 21st
at 11AM at St. Joseph Church in Claremont with Rev. Father George Majka,
officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
A reception will be held back at the St. Joseph Hall.
