Margaret Mary (Lee) Peterson, 82, of Mt. Sunapee, NH,
formerly of Plaistow, NH, died on May 27, 2015.
Born in Worcester, MA, on November 14, 1932, Margaret was the
youngest of eight children born to Edward Charles and Elizabeth (Cove)
Lee.
Marge was predeceased by her parents as
well as her seven siblings including her sisters Geraldine Turley and
Elizabeth Tucker and her brothers Francis, Richard, Edward, William and
Walter Lee.
Marge graduated from South High School,
Worcester. Following
graduation, she was employed by State Mutual Insurance Co. and attended
Worcester School of Business.
She married Gerald “Pete” Olaf Peterson on June 21, 1952.
After marriage, Marge and Pete lived in Anif, Austria while Pete
was in the US Army, then in Henniker, NH, while he finished college.
They lived in Plaistow, NH, from 1956 to 1988 where they raised
their family. She returned
to the workforce as a kindergarten teacher at Sweet Hill Kindergarten in
Plaistow once her youngest child was in elementary school.
She retired from teaching in 1986.
Marge will be remembered for many
things but it was her acceptance of others along with her exceptional
sense of humor, quick wit and impish smile that endeared her to everyone
who knew her. She made Pete
laugh every day of their life together.
In addition to being survived by her
husband of 63 years, she
leaves her seven children and their spouses including Sandra (Mark)
Legsdin, Sutton, NH; Darlene (Robert) Behrens, Sunapee, NH; Gerald (Ying
Xia) Peterson, Concord, NH; Amy (Richard) Neville, Hampton, NH; Thomas
(Kim) Peterson, Danville, NH; Daniel (Tammy) Peterson, Goshen, NH and
Heather (David) Cantagallo, Newbury, NH;
thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Marge is also survived by a large extended family and many
friends.
Relatives
and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Friday, May 29,
2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stringers Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street,
Claremont, NH. A service
will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM
followed by a graveside service at West Claremont Burying Ground,
Claremont, NH. To
