Mildred “Terrie” Sabalewski Jacobs, of Windsor, VT died on 
Sunday June 7, 2015 at Cedar Hill in Windsor, VT where she 
had lived for the past two years.  She was 93. Mildred was born 
on June 30, 1921 in West Claremont, NH the daughter of 
Gregory and Zuzanna Sabalewski. She is survived by her 
sister Carol Eddy of Manchester, CT and numerous nieces
 and nephews.
 
Mildred was a 1939 graduate of Stevens High School 
and a lifetime member of the Stevens Alumni Association. 
She had worked as a bookkeeper for Claremont Steam 
Laundry and also had been a waitress at the Copper Kettle 
on Green Mountain.  She was married to Frederick Jacobs 
on August 16, 1958 with whom she enjoyed many activities 
including board games and running the local bingo tournaments 
until his death on July 19, 1997. In addition to her husband, 
she was predeceased by her parents and two sisters; 
Mary "Penny" Wolcott, Ann Centariczki and her brother 
Frank Sabalewski.
 
Mildred was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing, 
cooking and baking. She was always looking for new recipes 
to make for her family and friends. She will be remembered 
for her cheerful personality, her mischievous smile and her 
twinkling eyes.
 
Sister Karen Pozniak will officiate at the memorial service 
to be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, 
Claremont at 1:00pm on June 27. Interment will follow at 
Mountain View cemetery.  
 
Donations may be made in her memory to a charity of 
ones choosing.
