Myra L. Filion, 89, formerly of Claremont, died Wednesday, morning,
April 8, 2015 at the Sullivan County Health Care in Unity.
She was born in Boston, MA on January 2, 1926 the daughter of Joseph and
Hazel Mclain.
Myra had worked for several years in the area shoe shops.
She enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.
Myra loved spending time with her grandkids and was loved by many.
She had lots of friends and spent the majority of her life
working with the Jehovah Witnesses spreading the word.
She loved animals and her favorite dog was Shadow.
The family includes one son, Roger Filion, Jr., and his wife, Susan of
Charlestown; one daughter, Linda Filion of Hartford, VT; five
grandchildren, Ronnie Hewey, Jarrod Filion, Davina Filion, Heath Miller
and Chad Filion; seven great grandchildren, Genea Miller, Austin,
Colten, Hawkens Spencer, Avery Filion and Amber & Warren Hewey; one
brother, Charles Mclain of Sandy Hook, CT; one sister, Cora Frenette of
Newport; several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Roger G. Filion, Sr.; one daughter,
Donna Miller Filion; one brother, Joseph Mclain and one sister, Emma
Dupree.
Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad
Street in Claremont on Friday, April 10th from 6-8 PM.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 AM
with Everett Emery an Elder of the congregation of the Claremont Jehovah’s
Witnesses.
Interment will be held privately at a later date in Mountain View
Cemetery in Claremont. |
