Rita F. Bullard passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on
Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Jerome Home in New Britain, CT.
She was born in Manchester, NH on May 10, 1921 the daughter of
Telesphore (Ted) and Marie Frenette, and had resided in Claremont, NH
most of her life and 14 years in Port Orange, FL. For the last 15 years
she resided in Plainville, CT.
She graduated in 1940 from St. Mary School in Claremont.
She was employed at Claremont Savings Bank for 23 years and retired in
April 1981. Previously she had worked for Barnes, Rouillard & McPherson
for 8 years.
She was a former member and past Vice President of the Board of
Directors of the Congress of Senior Citizens & Resident Association of
Earl Bourdon Center, the St Anne Society, former parishioner of St. Mary
Church and St. Mary Alumni Association, she also served on the St.
Mary’s Parish Council. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the
Americas, Business Professional Woman’s Club, Ladies Union Aid Society
of Valley Regional Hospital, and League of Women’s Voters all of
Claremont.
She enjoyed traveling and treasured her many cruises, trips to Europe
and travels throughout the US including Hawaii and Mexico. Her greatest
joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her family includes one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Pamela) Jackson of
Cabarete, Dominican Republic and Plainville, CT; four grandchildren and
their spouses: Alexandra Jackson Chmielecki and Luke of Plainville, CT,
Samantha Jackson Gilbert and Daniel of Charlton, MA, Kristi Jackson
Brown and Jeff of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Jeff Jackson and Michelle
of Toms River, NJ. She was the beloved great grandmother to 8 great
grandchildren, Drew and Cameron Gilbert of Charlton, MA. Cameron was
born 12 hours before his great grandmothers passing. Carter Chmielecki
of Plainville, CT, Scott & Jacqueline Brown of Steamboat Springs, CO,
and Jeffrey, Alexander and Juliana Jackson of Toms River, NJ; also a
dear friend, Larry Wright of Plainville, CT formerly of Claremont, who
has been part of the family for many years.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roy R. “Mike”
Bullard, who she married in 1941; her brother, Paul Frenette, her
sister, Lorraine Laramie of Florida and her son-in-law, Robert W.
Jackson, former Town Manager of Plainville, CT.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of the Jerome Home, who with
their loving care, she lived a peaceful and most loving life.
There will be no visiting hours.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary Church in Claremont at a later
date. Interment will be held in St Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St Mary
Church, 18 Central Street, Claremont, NH 0374.
