Roy Elmore Curtis, 98, of Claremont, NH died on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Elm Wood Center in Claremont.

He was born in Loudon, NH on November 29, 1916 the son of Harry W. and Marion F. (Cross) Curtis.

Roy was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Roy did farming for most of his life first with his parents in Cornish at the Blow Me Down Farm then for himself on the Old Newport Road. He was also a self-employed carpenter, building many homes in the area. He also placed the clock in the First Baptist Church.

The family includes his daughter, Linda D. Lee; one sister, Mildred F. Tolles, a brother-in-law, Maurice White and his wife, Loretta also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna M. White whom he married on November 5, 1945 and she died on September 13, 2006; and two brothers, Carl Curtis and Ernest Curtis.

A memorial service will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11AM with Pastor Scott Kearns, officiating. Interment will follow in the West Claremont Burying Ground.
