Russell Herbert Magoon, 69, of Leet Drive in Claremont, NH died on Friday, January 23, 2015 at his home.

He was born in Lebanon, NH on August 18, 1945 the son of Chester and Ruby (Flanders) Magoon.

Russell was the owner and operator of his own trucking company for over 30 years logging in 4 million miles. He wanted to make it to all 50 states but fell shy by 3, Alaska, Montana and Washington.

He was a very loving and special man. He would help anyone in need if he could.

The family includes his wife, Cheryl (Peno) Magoon whom he married on August 16, 2009; his son, Russell Eric Magoon and his wife, Yulim of Portland, OR; two grandchildren, Madelyn and Dillon; multiple stepchildren and step grandchildren; his sisters, Nancy Carver and her husband, David of Claremont and Jean Gross and her husband, Fred of Windsor, VT; his brother, Robert Magoon and his wife, Brenda of North Thetford and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sandy Magoon.

Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Wednesday evening, January 28th from 6 to 8PM.

Funeral services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home on Thursday morning, January 29th at 11AM with Pastor Scott Kearns officiating.
