Walter “Kenny” Kenneth Murray, 85, of Newport, NH died on April 16, 2015 at his home.

He was born on June 28, 1929 in Springfield, VT the son of Albert Alverson and Elizabeth Louise (Yaddow) Murray.

He was a veteran of the US Navy serving his country from 1947 until 1967.

Ken was a carpenter and construction worker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking, he also was a self-proclaimed barber.

He belonged to the Moose, American Legion and the VFW.

The family includes one son, John Murray and three daughters, Linda Chrisholm of Haverhill, MA Pamela Murray of Newport and Cynthia Jackson of Claremont and his adopted son, Larry McNamara; his longtime partner, Esther McElreavy and her daughter, Charmaine Sablock; his brother, Daniel Murray of Cornish; also 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Murray, Clarence Murray and Bruce Murray.

A memorial service will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Tuesday, April 21st at noon with Donna Leslie officiating.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 10 to 12PM prior to the service.
