A graveside committal service and Masonic service will be held Saturday, June 25th at Two O'clock in Hope Hill Cemetery in North Charlestown for Earl Sheehan "Bud" French. Rev. Margaret Long, Pastor of the North Charlestown Methodist Church will officiate along with a service by the Masonic Faithful Lodge #12 of Charlestown. Earl Sheehan "BUD" French, 85, of River Road, in Charlestown, NH died February 26, 2005, at Valley Regional Hospital. He was born in Greenfield, MA in April 20, 1919, the son of Ralph and Irene (Sheehan) French and has resided in Charlestown for the past sixty- three years. He was a graduate of Stevens High school in the class of 1938 Earl served four years in the US Navy during world war II. He was employed by Jones and Lamson in Springfield, VT for forty-two years. Earl was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Charlestown for over sixty years and recently a member of the North Charlestown Methodist Church. He was an officer in both Faithful and St. Paul Lodges of the Masonic Order, F & AM. He was an Honorary Past Master and Tyler in Faithful Lodge #12 of Charlestown and a Tyler in St. Paul #30 of Langdon. He was an Honorary member of Mt. Vernon Lodge #15 of Newport and Cheshire #23 of Cornish. He was also a member of the Elks. The family includes his wife, Eleanor (Banister) French whom he married on April 4, 1942; three children; Lawrence and Sue French of Sunapee, Susan and Ray Weeks of Beavercreek, OH and Thomas French of Huntington, VT; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph French, Jr. of Lilburn, GA; one sister, Patty Leavitt of Virginia Beach, VA also nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Deborah N. Pebbles in 1999. |
