Alberic Roland Marchand, 86, of Pearl Street in Claremont, died March 4,
2005 at the Haven Health Care of Claremont.

He was born on the West side of Manchester, NH on July 26, 1918 the son of
Gaston and Virginia (Fontaine) Marchand  and had resided in Claremont since
1922.

He was a proud veteran who served on the Mariana Islands and in the Guam
excursion with the US Navy Seabees during World War II.

He returned home in 1945 and worked for the Sullivan and Joy Manufacturing
Company as a core maker, later was employed by the Ideal Laundry, St Mary's
Parish as a custodian and retired in 1986 as a custodian at Stevens High
School where he worked for many years.  He also worked part time at Lambert
Supply Company, American Plate Glass, the Upham Estate and for Mrs. Lee.

He was the head usher at the 8 o'clock Mass at St Joseph Church for many
years and his greatest comfort and joy in his later years was his precious
cat, Mimi.

He was pre-deceased by his first wife, of forty years, Doris Mercier in 1978
and by his second wife, Louise Martin of five years in 1997 and one sister,
Berthe Beauregard in 1989.

The surviving family includes one daughter, Laurette C. Mayo and her
husband, Raymond of Spring Hill, FL;  two step-daughters, Joanne Savery and
her husband, Herbert of Claremont and Gail Utter and her husband, Robert of
Lempster; four grandchildren, Ray Mayo, Jr. and his wife, Karen of San
Antonio, TX, Jeff Mayo and his wife, Marisa,  Debra Barton and her husband
Dave and  Lisa Croteau and her husband, Alan all of Claremont and seven
great-grandchildren.

A graveside committal service will be held Friday June 17, 2005 at One
O'clock in St  Mary's Cemetery in Claremont with Rev. Father Stanley J.
Piwowar, Pastor of St Joseph Church, officiating.
