Arthur F. Hunt, 79, of Cornish, NH, died November 14, 2006 at the Haven
Health Center of Claremont.
He was born in Cornish, NH on April 27, 1927 the son of Laurence and Anna
(Tifft) Hunt. Mr. Hunt was a lifelong resident of Cornish attending school
there as a boy and farming his families' land as an adult. Many got to know
and admire Arthur while he and his second wife, Joan ran Hunt's Greenhouse
in Cornish. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator for Duncan Hunter
Construction and the Cornish Highway Department.
He was first married to Rebecca Jacobs and then to Joan Hunt.
The surviving family includes; one brother Robert and his wife Beverly of
Port Orange, FL; a nephew, Robert Jr. and his wife Debbie of Orlando, FL;
also his longtime friend Julie Van de Bogart of Cornish.
Through his marriage to Joan Hunt he acquired several step-children;
Kathleen Woodward of San Diego, CA, Lorra Robert of Gulf Breeze, CA, Susan
Rood of Suffield, CT, Brad Hunt of Strafford, CT, Elaine Collier of TN,
Connie Walker of Plainfield, NH and Ted Hunt of Waterbury, CT. Although
most were adults at that time, they grew to love and respect Arthur for the
wonderful man he was.
He was predeceased by two brothers who died at birth and by his parents.
Arthur was known for his quiet and steady way. A hard working man and a
good friend, he will be missed by friends and family.
A Graveside Service will be held Sunday, May 20th at Two O'clock in
Edminster Cemetery in Cornish.
A reception will follow at the Cornish Town Hall.
