Beatrice Ashdown, 94, formerly of Paris Avenue in Charlestown, died Thursday morning, December 15, 2005 at the Haven Health Center in Claremont, NH. She was born in Corona, NY on October 2, 1911 the daughter of Frank and Louisa (Kral) Stepanek. She lived in Long Island New York most of her life and resided in Charlestown since 1986. She had worked for Brickway Motor Company, currently Mack and later for American Checlet Company currently Warner Lambert as an employee counselor and retired January 1, 1975. She then went to work for the Federal Credit Union, currently Park-Davis Company as a loan counselor and retired June 30, 1982. She was a former member and Honorary President of the Women's Alliance and member of the choir of the Unitarian Evangelical Church of Corona, NY. She married Rev. George H. Ashdown on January 11, 1986 and he died July 14, 1995. She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Stepanek and one sister, Antoinette Stepanek. The surviving family includes a niece, Georgiana Gillen of LINY and a great-niece and nephew, Kathleen and Lee Anthony of So. Jamesport, NY. Graveside committal services will be held at a later date in the spring in Pine Crest Cemetery, The Stringer's Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street in Charlestown is in charge of arrangements. |
