afternoon, October 11, 2006 at the Pine Rock Manor in Warner. She was born
in Springfield, VT on June 28, 1916 the daughter of Vern Hayward and Susie
(Maranville) Barrett and had resided in Charlestown for most of her life.
She was a graduate of Charlestown High School in the class of 1934. Mrs.
Olden worked with her husband in General Castings Corporation and at
Charlestown Fuel Company.
She was the widow of Dana E. Olden whom she married on February 6, 1936 and
he died on September 14, 1986 and was also pre-deceased by one daughter
Rebecca A. Sherman on February 25, 2000.
Mrs. Olden was very active in many community organizations including the
Charlestown Congregational Church, the Barn Browsers, a Fort #4 volunteer
and a charter member of the Charlestown Women's Club.
The surviving family includes one son, Dennis E. Olden and his wife Elaine
of Littleton, MA; one daughter, Dianne E. Lessels and her husband Jeffrey of
Charlestown; ten grandsons, one granddaughter, nine great-grandsons and six
great-granddaughters.
There will be no visiting hours.
Funeral services will be held at the Charlestown Congregational Church on
Monday, October 16, 2006 at Eleven O'clock in the morning with Rev. Malcolm
Grobe, Pastor, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery in Charlestown.
