Bronislaw "Bronek" Czopp, 85, formerly of Pleasant Valley Estates in Claremont, NH, died Monday evening, May 2, 2005 at the Sullivan County Nursing Home. He was born in Poland on August 15, 1919 the son of Michal and Michalina (Doskocz) Czopp. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Polish Free Army from 1938 to 1946. Bronek lived and worked in New York City for nearly forty years as a painter by trade and worked for the 25 Broadway Company and retired in 1982 from Macy's Department Store where he also did painting for fifteen years. He had been a resident of Claremont for the past nineteen years where he was a communicant of St Joseph's Church and a member of Father Cote Assembly #635 Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. The surviving family includes his wife of thirty-two years, Cecelia "Bobbie" (Lemieux) Howe Czopp of the Sullivan County Nursing Home; two sons, Jerry Czopp and his wife, Pamela of Orlando, FL and Stefan Czopp and his wife, Terri of Williamsville, NY; three step-children, Wayne Howe and his wife, Jean of Claremont, Brian Howe and Lynne Dercole both of Dover- Foxcroft, ME; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday afternoon, May 6th at Four O'clock in St Joseph's Church with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Rural Grove Cemetery in Dover-Foxcroft, ME. A time of fellowship, sharing and refreshments will be held after the Mass in St Joseph's Church Hall. The Stringer Funeral Home and Crematorium, 146 Broad Street, Claremont is in charge of arrangements. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St Joseph's Church Renovation Fund, P.O. Box 824 or the Sullivan County Nursing Home, Activity Fund, 5 Nursing Home Drive, both of Claremont, NH 03743. |
