Burt C. Becker, 96, formerly of Sugar River Mills in Claremont, died
Thursday evening, January 18, 2007 at the Haven Health Center of Claremont.

He was born on April 5, 1910 in Alberta, Canada the son of Warren T. and
Alta (Ewing) Becker and had resided in Claremont since the late1970's.   He
moved from Canada to the US in 1917 and attended Bailey's Mills School in
Reading, VT.

In 1933, Mr. Becker enlisted in the US Army and served as a mess cook.

He worked at various jobs including Cone Automatic in Windsor, VT, the Town
of Windsor Highway Department and the State of Vermont, Forest and Parks
Department.

Mr. Becker is survived by several nieces and nephews and was pre-deceased by
his parents and five brothers and two sisters.

A graveside memorial service will be held at the Brownsville Cemetery in
Brownsville, VT later in the spring.

The Stringer Funeral Home and Crematorium, 146 Broad Street in Claremont is
in charge of arrangements.
