Calvin Henry LaRue, 81, of Sunrise Village Park in Charlestown, was found
dead at his home on Monday evening, July 24, 2006 and was believed to have
died possibly on Friday, July 21st.

He was born in Albany, NY on September 9, 1924 the son of Melvin and Clara
(Charot) LaRue and had resided in Charlestown  since 1980.

He had previously lived in Walpole, NH and in Cranston, RI where he worked
at the Garden City Atlantic Station for 16 years.  He worked as a machine
operator for 25 years at Flock Fibers in N. Walpole.

Mr. LaRue was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army in
Italy and France and was a Staff Sargent in the Korean Conflict.  He also
had 16 years in the active reserve.

He was a member of the Bellows Falls American Legion Post #37, the
Charlestown Memorial VFW Post #8497 and the Claremont D.A.V. Chapter #20.

He was the widower of Gladys (Swain) LaRue who died in 1991.

The surviving family includes two special granddaughters whom he raised,
Lori Hicks of Charlestown and Jackie Croteau of Walpole; two sons, Joe Pete
LaRue of England and Richard LaRue of Bellows Falls, VT;  several
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step grandchildren; one brother,
Robert LaRue in Florida.  He was pre-deceased by a brother George LaRue.

Graveside committal services with full military honors by the Charlestown
Memorial VFW Post #8497 and the Bellows Falls American Legion Post #37 will
be held Friday morning, July 28th at Eleven O'clock in Oak Hill Cemetery in
Bellows Falls, VT.
