Charles R. Bannister,  69, a patient at the Woodlawn Nursing Home in Newport
and a long time resident of Cornish, died Tuesday morning, April 18, 2006 at
the New London Hospital in New London, NH.

He was born in Newport, NH on April 12, 1937 the son of Walter and Doris
(Boutwell) Bannister.

Mr. Bannister retired in 1991 from the Kleen Laundry where he had worked for
fifteen years.

He enjoyed playing cribbage, bingo and loved country music.

He was the widower of Sylvia (Blodgett) Bannister whom he married  in 2004
and she died March 1, 2005.

The surviving family includes a sister-in-law, Rita Elizabeth Bannister of
Cornish Flat; one nephew, John R. Bannister and his wife, Missy and two
grand nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Elbert Irwin Bannister who died
July 7, 2003.

Graveside committal services will be held Friday morning, April 21st at
Eleven O'clock in Child Cemetery, on Route 120, in Cornish.
