Charles "Charlie" Wakefield Currier, 89, of River Street in Charlestown,
died Thursday evening, July 20, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Hospital
in White River Junction, VT.

He was born in Hanover, NH on June 3, 1917 the son of Harry G. and Alice E.
(White) Currier of Topsham, VT.   Having been raised in Topsham, VT, he
lived in Springfield, VT for many years, in Claremont for ten years and had
resided in Charlestown for the past eight years.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army.

Mr. Currier worked as a machinist for Jones and Lamson Machine Co. in
Springfield, VT.  He also worked for Sherwin-Williams and Carpet World as a
clerk and did painting and carpentry work.

He attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Claremont and enjoyed deer
hunting, trout fishing, playing bridge and was an avid Red Sox fan.

The surviving family includes his wife, Winifred (Huston) Currier of
Charlestown whom he married on Nov. 11, 1988; one son, Jeffrey S. Currier of
Boca Raton, FL;  two step-sons, Rob Basso and his wife, Sue of Enfield and
David Basso of Lebanon; three step-daughters, Donna Charest and her husband,
Dan and Lynne Basso all of Claremont and Lois Jones and her husband, Bill of
Bedford; seven step-grandchildren and several cousins.  He was pre-deceased
by two infants, Brian and Cheryl.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, July 29th at Two O'clock
in the Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Stephen Cook, Pastor, officiating.
Interment was in Oakland Cemetery in Springfield, VT.
