Conrad Joseph Martell, Sr., 71, of Prospect Street, in Claremont, NH, died
Sunday morning, September 18, 2005 at his home.

He was born in Claremont, NH on November 10, 1933 the son of Conrad J. and
Angelina (Descoteau) Martell and resided in Claremont most of his life.

He worked for many years  as a cutter, bench worker and pull over in several
shoe shops, including International Shoe, Franklin Footwear, Newport Shoe,
Pep Industries and retired from Encore Shoe.  He also worked as a night
watchman for fifteen years at both Claremont Paper Mill and Claremont Flock.


He was a communicant of St Mary's Church and he loved bowling.

The surviving family includes his wife, Dorothy Yvonne (Desharnais) Martell
of Claremont whom he married on June 28, 1957;  four daughters, Linda
Gilpatric of Winchendon, MA, Constance Susee of Acworth, Carol LaPlante and
Cynthia Welch both of Claremont; one son, Conrad Joseph Martell, Jr. of
Lebanon; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren; one great-grandson;
one sister, Doris Smead of Cornish and nieces, nephews and cousins.   He was
pre-deceased by one granddaughter, Cynthia Fifield and two sisters, Juliette
Wade and Malina Sevene.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Tuesday afternoon from 2:00  to 3:30 followed by a graveside service at
St Mary's Cemetery at 4 PM with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor of St
Mary's Church, officiating.
