David Donald DeTore, 62, of Charlestown, NH passed away Thursday, August 30,
2007 surrounded by loved ones.

He was husband of Deborah Anne (Wojenski) DeTore whom he married on April
12, 1975 in Charlestown. He was born in Portland, ME on April 10, 1945, the
eldest child of Thomas J. and Kathryn G. (McGovern) DeTore.  Raised and
educated in Portland, Mr. DeTore was a graduate of Gorham State College in
Gorham, ME.  Dave was one of the founders and first president of the TKE
fraternity while at Gorham.  After graduation, Dave was an insurance agent
and a member of the Army Reserves.

Dave taught History at St. Ignatius High School in Sanford, ME for one year
and History at the Charlestown Middle School for 33 years and retired in
July of 2005.   While at CMS, Dave was Lead Teacher, Athletic Director,
Teachers' Association Representative and coach of the boys' basketball and
baseball teams.   He also established and coached the girls' soccer team.
Dave had the joy of having his daughter Nicole as a student and co-captain
of the soccer team.

David participated in the American Heritage Tour as a leader for 25 years.
He was a communicant of St. Catherine's Church, a charter member of the
Charlestown Knights of Columbus and a past president of the Charlestown
Rotary Club.

His many interest included surfing, swimming, golfing, skiing and playing
tennis.  Dave was a loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers, the St. Louis Rams and
the Detroit Red Wings.  He was an avid reader and a skilled presenter and
writer.  Throughout the years, Dave traveled with his family to Mexico,
Jamacia, Antiqua and summered at Higgins Beach in Scarborough, ME.  He was a
devoted husband and father.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Deborah; a daughter, Nicole
M. DeTore, both of Charlestown; his mother, Kathryn DeTore of Scarborough,
ME;  two sisters, Dianne (Rich) Parisi of Milford, NH and Debra (Stan) Eaton
of Portland, ME; mother-in-law, Sophia Wojenski of Charlestown; 3
brothers-in-law, Peter Wojenski of Charlestown, Laurence (Joanne LaJoice)
Wojenski of Brattleboro, VT and Edmund (Jen) Wojenski of Keene, NH;
godparents Mary and Joseph Marshall of Arundel, Wilm. DE; aunts uncles,
nieces, nephews and godchildren.

David was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, brother, Dennis and close
friends, John Geary and Peter St. Martin.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Friday, September 7th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 8th at
Eleven O'clock in St Mary's Church in Claremont with Rev. Shawn M. Therrien
Pastor of St Mary's and Rev. Father Michael Gendron Pastor of St Catherine's
Co-officiating.

Interment with full military honors by the Charlestown Memorial VFW  Post
#8497 will follow in St Catherine's Cemetery in Charlestown.
