David "Dave" Gene Bacon, 74, of the Acworth Road in Charlestown, died
Saturday afternoon, June 24, 2006 at the Valley Regional Hospital.

He was born in Chester, VT on May 4, 1932 the son of Jesse H. and Marjorie
(King) Bacon, Sr. and had resided in Charlestown nearly all his life.  He
was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Navy.  Dave
retired Dec. 31, 2005 from H.P. Hood where he worked as a milkman for nine
years and had previously worked for Idlenot Dairy for thirty-five years. 

He was a member of the Charlestown Congregational Church.  His family was
his life.  Dave was a loyal and trusted husband, father, grandfather, uncle
and friend, so much that words can't describe.  We will miss him every day
and are eternally grateful for his love, kindness and support.  We love you,
Daddy, David and Grampa.  He enjoyed helping friends, family and community
and loved his truck and mowing his lawn.

The surviving family includes his wife, Johanna (Gibbs) Bacon of Charlestown
whom he married on Nov. 27, 1954;  one son, David John Bacon and his wife,
Melanie Lemay of Lima, Peru; four daughters, Lynn Marie Bacon and her
husband, Jan Mack of Bozeman MT, Carol Jean St. Pierre and her husband,
Albert of Charlestown, Julie Ann Bacon and her friend, Dave Cameron of
Amity, OR and Laura Beth LaRochelle and her husband, John of Windham;  ten
grandchildren, Alissa Bascom and her husband, Greg, Jillian Towle and her
husband, Justin,  Gabriel St. Pierre, Jandee Lee Porter, Viki Gene Porter,
Heidi Elizabeth Porter, Nicholas John LaRochelle, Hanna Marie LaRochelle,
Alex Anne Bacon and Isabelle Sarah Bacon; one great-grandson, Logan Paul
Bascom; one brother, Jesse H. Bacon, Jr.  and his wife, Ruth of Alstead; one
sister, Gloria Hunt of Claremont; two half brothers, Mike Osgood and Jon
Osgood, also several nieces, nephews and very special cousins.  He was
pre-deceased by a daughter, Beth Holly in 1956; a sister, Patricia Lowell;
his parents and grandmother, Charlotte Davis.

Friends may call at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street in
Charlestown on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, June 28th at Eleven O'clock
in the Charlestown Congregational Church with Rev. Malcolm Grobe, Interim
Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
