Donald W. Hackett, 63, of Plymouth, MA, died Thursday evening, August 30,
2007 in Plymouth, MA after a long illness.

He was born in Claremont, NH on June 14, 1944 the oldest son of Winfield and
Margaret (Hill) Hackett.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Ruest) Hackett of Plymouth, MA whom he
married on February 16, 1974; his mother, Margaret Hackett of Claremont; his
brother, Douglas Hackett of Dexter, ME; his sister, Shirley Jones of
Champaign, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Olin Hackett in 1982; his father, Winfield
Hackett in 1992; his sister, Susan Jones in 1980  and a special great aunt,
Florence Ramsay.

Don graduated from Stevens High School in the Class of 1962 and from the
University of New Hampshire in 1966.  In 1959 he became active in Demolay
and eventually became State Master Counselor.

Don's teaching career started in 1966 as a 4th grade teacher at Maple Avenue
School in Claremont.  He was also a teaching principal at schools in
Newfields, NH and Springfield, VT.  He continued to teach until 1974 when he
became a full time employee of Boys and Girls Camps, Inc.  Don began his
camp career in 1965 as a summer camp counselor and eventually held the
position of Assistant Executive Director.  Don was with Boys and Girls
Camps, Inc. until 1986 when he returned to teaching in Plymouth, MA until he
retired in 2006.

For many years Don was an avid dealer of political memorabilia and
collectibles with booths in the Kingston/Cape Cod area.

Graveside committal services will be held Friday morning, September 7th at
Ten-Forty-Five in Mt View Cemetery with Rev. Kelly E. Kirby, Rector of the
Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating.
