Dora Dole, 85, of Prospect Street in Claremont, died Saturday evening, June 25, 2005 at the Valley Regional Hospital. She was born in Lebanon, NH on May 27, 1920 the daughter of Eugene and Dorothy (Bagley) Kimball and had resided in Claremont most of her life. She worked at the International Shoe Shop and Topstone Furniture for a short time but was mostly a stay at home wife and mom. Mrs. Dole enjoyed family reunions, band concerts, riding, watching TV especially wrestling, yard sales and especially loved Bingo and watching the races at the Claremont Speedway where her son-in-laws, Jerry and Nathan and grandsons, Robin, Cory and Steven were involved. She was the widow of Alfred Dole who died March 22, 1961. The surviving family includes two sons, Raymond Dole of Claremont and John Dole of Newport; four daughters, Marion Bly and her husband, Nathan, Joan Spencer and her husband, Neal and Shirley Bly and her husband Jerry all of Claremont and Donna Bushnell and her husband Arthur of Meredith; twenty grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; one brother, Roger Kimball of Claremont; one sister, Patricia LaClair of Newport and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by two sons, Eugene Dole on May 8, 1966 and George Dole on Oct. 1988; one brother, Emery Kimball and three sisters, Maxine Meyette, Marion Whalen and Marjorie Greenough. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, June 29th at Eleven O’clock at the Funeral Home with Pastor Michael DeRosa of the Solid Rock Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the West Claremont Burial Grounds in Union Cemetery. |
