Doris Arlene Blair, 76, of Town Farm Road in Springfield, VT, died Thursday
morning, May 17, 2007 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester.
She was born in Charlestown, NH on October 22, 1930 the daughter of Wilford
O. and Florence (Wilson) Bashaw. She resided in Springfield, VT for the
past forty years and previously lived in Sunapee and Georges Mills.
She was a chambermaid at the Hartness House, also worked at Brookwood
Estates and the Cutler Nursing Home. She worked at the Springfield Cleaners
and Sunapee Harbor Restaurant and Longview Terrace both in Sunapee. Mrs.
Blair enjoyed camping, country music, yard sales, crossword puzzles, word
finds and flea markets.
The surviving family includes her husband, Robert R. Blair of Springfield,
VT whom she married on April 28, 1967; two sons, Robert D. Blair of
Springfield, VT and Dale R. Collins of Brewster, NY; one daughter, Eunice A.
Proper of Newport; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three
sisters, Wilma White, Alice Borders and Charlotte Baldwin; two brothers,
Wilford Bashaw, Jr. and Richard Bashaw, also numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins. She was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Mindy Lee Proper in 1988
and two brothers, Allen and Samuel Bashaw.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 21st at Ten O'clock in the
Charlestown Congregational Church with Rev. Malcolm Grobe, Pastor,
officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery. The Stringer's
Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street is in charge of arrangements.
