Dorothy Ruth Johnson, 82, of NH Route 12a in Langdon, NH, died Sunday
morning, July 16, 2006 at the Sullivan County Health Care.

She was born in New York City, NY on May 15, 1924 and was raised by her
adopted mother, Chestina Breshka and had resided in Langdon for nearly sixty
years. 

She worked as a licensed practical nurse at several hospitals and nursing
homes in the area. 

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Britton-Porter American Legion Post #57 of
Alstead and was a former member of the Langdon Community Club.

The surviving family includes her husband, Joseph W. Johnson of Langdon whom
she married on October 13, 1941; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Kathleen Joyce)
Merrill of Charlestown and Mrs. Robert (Brenda Mae) Batchedler of Langdon;
seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one
great-great-granddaughter.  She was pre-deceased by one son, Joseph W.
Johnson in 1997 and a granddaughter, Jennifer Merrill in 1966.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon, July 19th at one-thirty at
the funeral home, with Rev. Craig Fisher, Pastor of the Beth-El Bible Church
of Surry, NH, officiating. 

Interment will follow in Lower Langdon, Cemetery.

The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her
memory to the Sullivan County Health Care, % Hospice Program, 5 Nursing Home
Drive, Unity, NH 03743 or the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, One Medical
Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756-0001.
