Douglas Edward Wilson, 83, of East Mountain Road in Newport, NH, died Sunday
morning, February 19, 2006 at his home after a long illness.

He was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan, Canada on December 26, 1922 the
son of Amos Frank and Viola Ruth (Langille) Wilson and had resided in
Newport most of his life.  He also wintered in Ft Meyers, FL for several
years.  Mr. Wilson was a veteran of World War II having served in the US
Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theater with the 1117th Military Police.

He retired from Joy Manufacturing Company where he worked as a service
engineer/trouble shooter for forty-one years in the mining and construction
division.
His many hobbies included woodworking, fishing, reading, landscaping,
camping, traveling and collecting books on the presidents.  He enjoyed
nature and being out of doors.

He was a member of the VFW Post 808 in Claremont and the American Legion
Post of Newport.

The surviving family included his loving wife and best friend, Natalie
(Lasky) Wilson, of Newport, whom he married on Apr. 10, 1949; three
daughters, Jeanne Orrok and her husband, James of Mountain Home, AR,
Dorothy Maynard and her husband Lewis of Newport, and Paula Wilson of
Newport;  three granddaughters, Nicole Huff, Stephenie Fraser and Candace
Maynard and one grandson, Stephen Huff;  one great-grandson, Joshua Fraser;
two step-grandchildren, Kimberley Bentley and Kristen West; four
step-great-grandchildren, Justin Dashner, Aidan Bentley, Kaytlynn Kenney and
Samantha West; two brothers, Harold Wilson of Newport and David Wilson of Ft
Meyers, FL; three sisters, Laura Chamberlain of Claremont, Edna DiPardo of
Ormond Beach, FL and Pauline Richards of Laconia, numerous nieces and
nephews and his special dog, Willy.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Donald, Ralph, Norman, Aubrey and
Charles and by one sister, Margaret.

There will be no visiting or funeral services.
