Earl Parker Putnam, 87, a former long time resident of Charlestown, NH,
currently of Lakeland, FL, died Friday morning, November 3, 2006 at the home
of his son in Acworth, NH.

He was born in Springfield, VT on November 25, 1918 the son of John Parker
and Jane (Streeter) Putnam.  He resided in Charlestown for fifty years and
lived in Lakeland, FL since 1986.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy.

He retired in 1986 from Lovejoy Tool Company where he worked for eleven
years and previously worked at Fellows Gear Shaper both in Springfield, VT
also had worked for Streeter Plumbing in Charlestown and Hartford and Amico
Oil Companies for a short time.

He was a Charter member of the Charlestown Memorial VFW Post #8497, a former
long time member of the Charlestown Fire Department and was the Charlestown
Water Commissioner for several years.

The surviving family includes his wife, Janet M. (Henault) Putnam of
Acworth, NH; two sons, John Parker Putnam and his wife, Audrey of Acworth,
NH and Robert Earl Putnam and his wife Ann of Charlestown; one daughter,
Joyce A. Ringland and her husband, Russell of Bradenton, FL; eleven
grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Downing of
Florida and several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Howard Putnam and Forrest Putnam; three
sisters, Celia Martin, Velma Garceau and Lois Allen.

Graveside committal services with full military honors, provided by the Fall
Mt. R.O.T.C. and the Charlestown memorial VFW Post #8497 will be held
Tuesday morning, November 7th at Eleven O'clock in Oakland Cemetery in
Springfield, VT. with Rev. Dr. Winn Alley, officiating.

The Stringer's Charlestown Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
