Elizabeth "Betty" Harrington, 96, of Pleasant Valley Estates in Claremont,
died peacefully early Monday morning, May 14, 2007 at the Haven Health
Center of Claremont. 

She was born in Claremont, NH on September 23, 1910 the daughter of Rafael
"Mike" and Anna (Marro) Maiola.  She resided in Claremont for the past
twenty-one years and previously lived in West Roxbury, MA most of her
married life.  She was a graduate of Stevens High School. 

Her family was her first love.  For many years she was employed by the
United Optical Company in Boston, MA where she was a supervisor.

She was the widow of John J. Harrington whom she married in 1944 and he died
October 24, 2006.

The surviving family includes three brothers, Joseph Maiola of Barre, VT,
Anthony Maiola of Newport and Rocco Maiola of Spokane, WA; three sisters,
Rose K. Gaspardino of N. Smithfield, RI, Lena Paradis and Sadie Lessard both
of Claremont and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by three sisters, Josephine Maiola age 11, Mary O'Mara
in 2003 and Carmela "Minnie" Maiola in 2004 also an infant brother Joseph
Maiola.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, May 16th at Ten-Thirty
O'clock at the Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor of St
Mary's Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
