Elizabeth Rita Travis, 75, of 7 Heritage Drive in Claremont, died Thursday
morning, December 13, 2007 at the Sullivan County Health Care.

She was born in Springfield, VT on September 28, 1932 the daughter of Joseph
and Delia (Valley) Meunier.  She lived in Rochester, NY for twenty years and
in Claremont most of her life.

She received her Registered Nurse Degree from Elliot Community Hospital in
1953.  She worked in Rochester, NY for twenty years and retired from the
Sullivan County Nursing Home in 1995 where she worked for twenty-three
years.

Rita was a communicant of St Mary's Church, worked at the Claremont Soup
Kitchen for many years, loved to travel and going to the seacoast with
friends.

The surviving family includes two sons, Edward M. Travis of Charlestown and
David H. Travis of Claremont; two grandchildren, Ethan Travis and Cameron
Travis; one brother, Alfred Meunier of Lempster; one sister, Elaine Mazonna
of Graham, WA and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by one brother, Robert R. Meunier in 1995; four
sisters, Yvette C. Meunier in 2000, Doris A. Frasier in 1998, Madeleine J.
Horton in 1979 and Lucille E. Godek in 1971.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Friday
evening from 6 to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, December
15th at Ten O'clock in St Mary's Church with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien,
Pastor officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in Union Cemetery.
