Ella Marie Goodrich, 88, formerly of Pleasant Valley Estates in Claremont,
died Wednesday evening, April 4, 2007 at the Baystate Franklin Medical
Center in Greenfield, MA. She was born in St. Camille, PQ Canada on
September 25, 1918 the daughter of Henry J. and Elodia (Bonhomme) Gosselin.
She resided in Claremont for sixty-six years and had made her home with her
daughter in Greenfield for the past four years.
Mrs. Goodrich retired in 1990 from the Eagle Times newspaper in Claremont
where she worked as an inserter for ten years.
She was the widow of Harold Lucius Goodrich whom she married on June 19,
1937 and he died March 28, 1997. The surviving family includes two sons,
Harold L. Goodrich, Jr. of Greenfield, MA formerly of Sebring, FL and Bruce
Goodrich of Newport, NH; two daughters, Gail Shute and Colleen Davis both of
Greenfield, MA; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grand-children; two
great-great granddaughter; three step-grandchildren; eight
step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was
pre-deceased by one brother, Florien Gosselin and four sisters, Bella
Lemelin, Louella Stebbins, Stella Paquette and Dora Poulin.
Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Monday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM prior to the services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday afternoon, April 9th
at One-Thirty in St Joseph Church with Rev. Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor,
officiating. Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
