Elwin Leon Balla, 74, of Old Claremont Road in Charlestown, died Tuesday
morning, June 26, 2007 at the Springfield Health & Rehab  Center in
Springfield, VT.

He was born in S. Acworth, NH on September 21, 1932 the son of Leon and
Madeline (Benware) Balla and had resided in Charlestown for fifty-one years.
He was a graduate of Vilas High School in Alstead and was a Veteran of the
Korean Conflict having served in the US Army.

Elwin retired in 1994 from Bryant Grinder Corp. in Springfield, VT where he
worked as an electrical engineer for thirty-seven years.  He had previously
worked for a short time for the State of New Hampshire Highway Dept.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling and loved antique cars.

The surviving family includes his wife, S. Lois (Robinson) Balla of
Charlestown whom he married on October 2, 1955 and one son, Richard E. Balla
of Charlestown.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday morning, June 30th at
Eleven O'clock in Pine Crest Cemetery in Charlestown with Rev. Cynthia
Batten, officiating.

The Stringer's Charlestown Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
