Eric Richard "Dick" Wahrlich, 76, of Lower Main Street in Claremont, died
Friday, May 5, 2006 at his home.

He was born in Georgetown, CT on March 2, 1930 the son of Eric and Agnes
(Peterson) Wahrlich.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Army.

He moved to Claremont from Danbury, CT in 1966.  He and his partners moved
Topstone Furniture from CT and were in business for twenty years in
Claremont.  In 1979, Dick and his wife Joan opened White Birch Sheltered
Homes which they owned and operated for twenty-one years.  Dick served on
the Board of Directors for the NH Association of Assisted Living and was
very dedicated to the care of the elderly.  He also served on the Claremont
Planning Board for twenty-two years, was a member of Kiwanis, a lifetime
member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Elks Lodge #879.

Dick was an avid fisherman and hunter and always looked forward to his
hunting/fishing trips he took with his buddies every year.  In his later
years, he could be found every afternoon at the Elks Club playing cribbage,
pinochle, or his latest craze- Texas Hold Um.   He treasured the time he
spent with his friends there everyday, the Elks being his "home away from
home".  Dick was very devoted and dedicated to all he did and to anyone that
was close to him.  Dick will be extremely missed by his family and friends.
We love you Dick.

Dick was a loving husband, a good father and a wonderful grandfather.  He
always had a smile and loved to spend time with his family.  For the last
few years, he and Joan spent several months in Houston each year with one of
his sons and family.  They traveled together and just enjoyed each others
company.  His grandson, John David still remembers and appreciated all the
rides Grampa gave him to his various activities.  His granddaughters
remember all their visits to Grampa and his love for sweets.  His sons, Fred
and Rick, remember all his questions that he would ask that helped them
focus on their issues in life, whether they  were business or family issues.
His legacy will live on with his family.

The surviving family includes his wife, Joan (Fisher) Wahrlich of Claremont
whom he married on September 25, 1954; two sons, Fred Wahrlich and his wife,
