Ernest Eldridge Sanborn, Jr., 89, formerly of 39 Pleasant Street, in Claremont, NH, died Tuesday evening, May 23, 2006 at the Haven Health Center of Claremont. He was born in Springfield, NH on Oct. 26, 1916 the son of Ernest Eldridge and Anna Hoyt (Dow) Sanborn, Sr.   He was raised in Barton, VT, lived in Canaan, NH for 25 years and in Claremont since 1962. He worked at the Baltic Mills Woolen Mill in Enfield, NH for 25 years and retired in 1981 from the Claremont General Hospital where he worked in the maintenance department. The surviving family includes two brothers, Robert C. Sanborn and his wife, Nancy of Enfield, NH  and Darrell G. Sanborn of Claremont, NH; two sisters, Catherine Thomas of Aiken, SC and Freydis Grant and her husband William of Highland, CA also several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by one brother, Charles B. Sanborn and an infant sister, Barbara Elizabeth Sanborn. As per his wishes there will be no visiting or funeral services.
