Everett Cleon Tatro, 73, of Pleasant Street in Claremont, died Monday morning, April 4, 2005 at his home. He was born in Tyson, VT, on September 24, 1931, the son of Cleon and E. Hazel (Prior) Tatro. He was raised in Tyson, VT, attended Black River High School, lived in Westminster, VT from 1961 to 1981, and resided in Claremont since 1981. He served in the Vermont National Guard from 1947 to 1950, in the US Army from 1950 to 1951 during the Korean Conflict and with the Springfield, VT National Guard as an administrator and auto mechanic from 1953 to 1960. Mr. Tatro was a plumber by trade and worked for C.L. Bodine Plumbing & Heating, James Plumbing & Heating both in Bellows Falls, VT, Pinney Plumbing & Heating in Swanzey, NH, and retired in 1991 from the Valley Regional Hospital where he worked in plumbing and maintenance. He was an avid fisherman, especially enjoyed fly fishing and tied his own flies. He also enjoyed hunting, cooking and gardening. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Doris (Bodine) Tatro, who died in 1978, also by two daughters, Marjorie T. Wilson in 1982 and Barbara McGrath in 1995, a granddaughter, Danielle M. Bernier in 1993 and a brother, Edwin G. Tatro in 1991. The surviving family includes his wife, Arlene P. Tatro of Claremont whom he married on May 3, 1981; two daughters, Katherine T. Allen of Bellows Falls, VT and Linda T. Bazin of Cavendish, VT; one son, Michael E. Tatro of Friendship, ME; two step-daughters, Carolyn H. Stelmach of Fernandina Beach, FL and Christine H. Hoskin of Shanty Bay, Ontario, Canada; ten grandchildren, Katie Wilson, McLain R. Morawski, Tyson J. Morawski, Jeffrey R. Bazin, Joanna L. Bazin, Meagan A. Bazin, Gwendolyn E. Tatro, Travis E. Tatro, Avery F. Tatro and Jessica M. Kemp; one great-granddaughter, Taylor M. Kemp; three step-grandchildren, Benjamin P. Hoskin, Jennifer K. Stelmach and Kimberly E. Stelmach; two brothers, Ezra L. Tatro of Claremont and Ellsworth J. Tatro of Tyson, VT; three sisters, Eleanor V. Pierce of Ascutney, VT, Elaine E. Underwood of Swanton, VT and Elizabeth A. Hayward of Tyson, VT, also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. A memorial service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday morning, April 7th at Eleven O'clock with Rev. Winn Alley, Pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating.
