Gary Victor Small, 62, of Beauregard Street in Claremont, died Tuesday
morning, February 6, 2007 at the West Roxbury, MA Veterans Medical Center.
He was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH born on December 18,
1944 the son of Victor "Zeke" and Marion (Amell) Small.
Gary was a veteran of the Vietnam Era having served in the US Army in
Germany.
He retired on January 31, 2007 from Sturm-Ruger Company in Newport where he
worked for the past four years and had previously worked at Fellows Gear
Shaper Company in Springfield, VT for 36 years and also part-time for 11
years at D'Amante Store.
Gary enjoyed music, bowling, football and was a loyal NY Yankee fan.
The surviving family includes his wife, Joy A. (Brooks) Small of Claremont
whom he married on July 16, 1966; two daughters, Darleen Sheldon of
Springfield, MA and Tricia Small of Springfield, VT; one grandson, David
Messier of Springfield, MA; one brother, Edward F. Small and his wife,
Violet R. of Claremont; his mother-in-law, Jeannette A. Chamberlain of
Lebanon also two aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Thursday afternoon and evening form 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 9th at Eleven O'clock at the
Funeral Home with Deacon Paul Boucher of St Mary's Church, officiating.
Interment with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post #29
of Claremont will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
The family suggests that donations may be made in his memory to the American
Heart/Stroke Association, Two Wall Street, Manchester, NH 03101-1518 or the
American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 Route 101, Unit
#8, Bedford, NH 03110.
