George A. Couture, 95, of Sullivan Street in Claremont, NH, died Monday
morning, February 27, 2006 at the Haven Health Center.

He was a native and life-long resident of Claremont, NH, born on March 17,
1910 the son of Adelard and Annedia (LeBrun) Couture.

He attended St Mary's School and was a veteran of World War II having served
in the Pacific with the U.S. Army Medical Corps.

George worked in the US Shoe Company, Claremont Woven Label Company, General
Automatic Products Company and as a custodian at the Claremont General
Hospital.

A fun loving person, he was an avid pinochle player and enjoyed touring the
Northeast by motorcycle.  But he loved nothing more than to keep in close
touch with family members and to share family news with them.  Thanks to his
initiatives two  cherished reunions took place in Claremont in recent years.

George was pre-deceased by three brothers, Ernest A. Couture in 1995, Albert
E. Couture in 1995, and Theodore R. Couture in 1997; one sister, Blanche
A.Hosking in 2002.

The surviving family includes one brother and sister-in-law, Archie and
Caroline Couture of Nashua; and a second sister-in-law, Eileen Couture of
Groton, CT. Also, there are nieces and nephews: Claire Petuck of Claremont,
Janet Albright of Newport, Sister Marie Couture and Sister Theresa Couture
of Nashua; in Massachusetts, Jane Barrett, Daniel Couture and his wife
Lucille, and John Couture and his wife Elaine; in Connecticut, Carolyn Leach
and her husband Christopher, and Richard Couture and his wife Lyle; in
Virginia, Anne Frietus and her husband Joseph; in Florida, Carl Couture and
his wife Judith, and James Hosking; in Iowa, Jane Collins and her husband
James ; and in California,  Jacqueline Terrell, Carol Westeren, and Albert
Couture, Jr. and his wife Sherry.  In addition there are several grand and
great-grand nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, March 4th at
Eleven O'clock in St Mary's Church with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien,
Pastor officiating.

Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Saturday morning from Nine to Ten-Thirty prior to going to Mass .

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in his
memory to St Mary's Parish Renovation Fund or Mass offerings, 32 Pearl
Street, Claremont, NH 03743 or charities of choice.
