George Alfred Booth, 77, formerly of 29 Center Street in Charlestown, NH.,
died Sunday evening, February 12, 2006 at the Haven Health Center in
Claremont where he had been a patient for the past two years.

He was born in  Charlestown, NH on February 17, 1928 the son of Bela and
Ruth (Bradley) Booth, and resided in Charlestown nearly all his life.  He
was a graduate of Charlestown High School and was a veteran of the Korean
Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. 

He was a former member of the Charlestown Congregational Church and the
Sugar River Grange of N. Charlestown. 

He enjoyed going out to eat and remembering license plate numbers and whom
they belonged to.

Mr. Booth retired on Sept. 16, 1996 as a mechanic where he worked at the
Main Way Service Center on Washington St. for twenty years, previously at
the Texaco Service Station on Pleasant St. and the Gulf Station on Broad St.
all in Claremont.

He was the widower of Jane Elizabeth (LaCasse) Lord  Booth of Charlestown
whom he married on July 7, 1990.  She died May 14, 2004.

The surviving family includes his fiancée, Claire Osborne of Claremont whom
he was to marry this Saturday, Feb. 18th; one step-daughter, Sandra Hale of
Sunapee;  two step-sons, Roger Lord and Keith Lord and his wife, Sandra all
of Claremont; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and
one sister, Mrs. Howard (Louise) Ryder of Silver Springs, FL. 

Funeral services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street
in Claremont on Wednesday, Feb. 15th at One O'clock with Rev Dr. Winn Alley
Pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 12 noon to one O'clock prior to
the services on Wednesday.

Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery in Charlestown.
