Herve' Joseph Beaudry, 83, of Green Street in Claremont, NH, died Friday evening, March 3, 2006 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a long illness surrounded by his family. He was born in Marieville, PQ Canada on December 7, 1922 the son of Emile and Estelle (LeMay) Beaudry and had resided in Claremont most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the 87th Infantry of the 3rd U.S. Army and enjoyed attending his Army reunions. Herve' retired in 1971 from the Joy Manufacturing Foundry where he worked as a core maker and crane operator for thirty years. He was an accomplished cook and co-owner of the former C & B Catering business. He was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed working in his work shop. He liked building and remodeling jobs. He helped build the VFW in Charlestown and re-modeled various buildings in Keene. He was a member of the Charlestown Memorial VFW Post #8497, the Claremont American Legion Post #29, the Polish American Citizens Club, Father Cote Council #1820 Knights of Columbus and a communicant of St Mary's Parish. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed dancing, playing cards, entertaining, traveling, visiting his daughter in North Carolina and friends in Florida. The surviving family includes his wife, Arlene Thelma (Abbey) Beaudry of Claremont whom he married on February 13, 1943; three daughters, Pauline DeCelle and her husband Delos of Taurmond, NC, Audrey Paquette and her husband John of Charlestown, NH and Pamela Davis and her husband Alan of Claremont, NH; two sons, Reginald Beaudry and Roger Beaudry and his wife Sherrie all of Claremont, NH; eleven grand-children; twenty-six great grandchildren; two sisters, Veronique M. Nadeau of Charlestown and Pauline M. Martineau of Keene; two brothers, Paul E. Beaudry and Normand R. Beaudry both of Charlestown and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by five brothers, Laurent Beaudry in 1925, Roger Beaudry in 1942, Fernand P. Beaudry in 1957, Gerard J. "Jerry" Beaudry in 1994 and J. Rosaire Beaudry in 1997. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St., Claremont on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning, March 7th at 10:30AM in St. Mary's Church with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating. Interment with full military honors, provided by the Charlestown Memorial VFW Post # 8497, will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one's choice or Connecticut Valley Home Care/Hospice, 958 John Stark Highway, Newport, NH 03773. |
