Howard "Hap" Dixon, 85, of Chase Street in Claremont, NH, died March 27,
2007 at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, FL.

He was born in Wilmington, VT on May 25, 1921 the son of George and Flora
(Pike) Dixon.   He lived in Claremont most of his life and spent winters in
Palm Harbor, FL for the past eleven years.

Mr. Dixon retired in 1983 from Jones & Lamson in Springfield, VT where he
worked for 38 years.

The surviving family includes his much loved wife, Jean (Ladd) Dixon whom he
married on June 23, 1973 at the Church On The Hill in Acworth, NH; a
daughter, Betty Dixon of West Fairlee, VT; stepdaughters, Debbie Hays, Linda
Brochu and Sue Tarbell, all of Springfield, VT; four grandchildren; ten
step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren
as well as nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Marion (Marquis) Dixon
who died in 1965; a son, Timothy Dixon; a step-daughter, Nancy Gurney; three
sisters; two brothers and two very special friends, Newton "Coach" Baker and
Elaine Baker.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 18th at One-Thirty O'clock in
the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont with Priscilla
Hull, Officiating.

Interment will be private in Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the
services.
