Ian Weld Lewis, 69, of Linlew Drive in Derry, NH, died at his home on August 13, 2005. He was born in Claremont, NH on August 1, 1936 the son of Leonard Weld and Noreen (Colson) Lewis and had resided in Seabrook and the Derry area most of his life. He attended Stevens High School, graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in 1954, and received his BS Degree in 1976 and his Masters Degree in 1977 from Emerson College. He served in the US Marine Corps from March of 1959 July of 1960 and was discharged due to disability. Mr. Lewis worked as a data processing manager at the law firm of Palmer and Dodge in Boston, MA for a short time and retired from the US Postal Service of Boston, where he worked as an accounting technician, PS06 for twenty years. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. The family includes a daughter, Diane Lee Lewis of Isleton, CA; a son, John David Lewis of California; two brothers, Harry Colson Lewis and his wife, Mimi of St Marys, GA and Kenneth Shaw and his wife, Florence of Arlington, TX; his step-mother, Louise S. (Ulwick) Lewis of Arlington, TX also nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, Aug. 20th at Eleven O'clock in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, with Rev. Dr. Winn Alley, Pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the West Claremont Burial Grounds in Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 to 11 prior to the services. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114 or the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104. |
