Ida May Fairbanks, 74, of Madison Place, formerly of Red Water Brook Road in
Claremont, died Tuesday afternoon, September 18, 2007 at the Valley Regional
Hospital. She was a native and nearly life long resident of Claremont, NH
born on December 7, 1932 the daughter of Edgar E. and Flora M. (Pollard)
Johnson. She was a graduate of Stevens High School in the Class of 1953.
Mrs. Fairbanks worked as a bus driver in Lebanon for J.R.B. Enterprises from
1991 to 2003 and had previously worked for the Claremont School District bus
service from 1985 to 1991. She had also worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at
the Sullivan County Nursing Home, the Claremont Nursing Home and from 1967
to 1979 she lived in Maryland and worked at the Citizens Nursing Home.
She was the widow of Reginald Roy Fairbanks whom she married on June 5, 1954
and he died March 12, 1995.
The surviving family includes one son Douglas Roy Fairbanks of Claremont;
two grandchildren, Jennifer Caver and Elizabeth Vanluvan; four
great-grandchildren, Nicholas Caver, Tyler Vanluvan, Marcus Vanluvan and
Amber Vanluvan and one sister, Carolyn May Johnson of Ballston Spa, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held for both Ida May and Reginald Fairbanks on
Friday morning, September 21st at Eleven O'clock in the Stringer Funeral
Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont with Rev. Dale Louise Nicholas, Pastor
of the United Church of Cornish, officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt View Cemetery.
