James B. Hogan, 87, of Walpole, NH, died Friday morning, October 20, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Center in White River Junction, VT. He was born in Leominster, MA on August 31, 1919 the son of James P. and Alice (Daly) Hogan. He graduated from Thayer High School in Winchester, NH and the University of New Hampshire. Mr. Hogan served with the Eighth Air Force in England and Europe. He was a member of the VFW Post #9497 in Charlestown, the American Legion Post #77 in Walpole and the Walpole Grange. Mr. Hogan was a self employed real estate appraiser. He held the SRA designation of the Appraisal Institute, prior to that he was employed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Burlington, VT. He owned and operated a dairy farm in Charlestown. Mr. Hogan served two terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He was a selectman in Charlestown and in Walpole for four full terms and two part terms. The surviving family includes his wife, Shirley (Wentworth) Hogan of Walpole; a stepson, Kenneth M. Ramsay of Boulder, CO; a sister, Alice of Florida; two brothers, William of Bellingham, WA and David of Binghanton, NY also nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A graveside committal service with full military honors will be held Thursday, November 16th at Ten O'clock in Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester, NH. The family suggest that donations may be made in his memory to the charity of ones choice. |
