James Harland "Jim" Boardman, 93, formerly of Franklin Street in Claremont
and the Good Shepard Nursing Home in Jeffrey, died Monday morning, April 3,
2006 at the Peterborough Community Hospital in Peterborough.

He was born in Hartland Four Corners, VT on June 3, 1912 the son of Alden
Gerard and Hulda Jane (Brooks) Boardman and had resided in Claremont most of
his life.

Jim owned and operated Jim Boardman's Radio and TV Sales and Service in
Claremont, since the late 1940's, retiring in 2002.  He also owned and
operated Mid City Lanes Bowling Alley for ten years, which was located over
the old IGA Store on Pleasant Street in Claremont until it was destroyed by
fire on April 1, 1969. 

He was an avid golfer and a long time member of the John Cain Country Club
in Newport, a member of Father Cote Council #1820 and Father Cote Assembly
#0635 Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, a volunteer at Valley Regional
Hospital for over thirty years, a communicant of St Mary's Church where he
ushered for forty years.  He was also one of the original directors of the
St Mary's Cavalier Drum and Bugle Corps.

He will be best remembered for his good works and kindness to others.

Jim was pre-deceased by his wife, Mary B. (Marcotte) Boardman who died in
1986, just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary.  He was also pre-deceased
by his son-in-law, John Isham in August of 2005 and seven brothers and
sisters.

The surviving family includes one daughter, Marie B. Isham of Peterborough;
two granddaughters, Wendy J. Isham of Manchester and Jennifer M. Isham of
Gilmanton Iron Works; three great-grandchildren, Melissa E. Knight,
Christopher A. Knight , USAF and Samantha Pinckney; a brother, Lester
Boardman of Pearl River, NY and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, April 8th at
Eleven O'clock in St Mary's Church with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien,
Pastor officiating.  Interment will be at a later date in St Mary's
Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Saturday
morning, from 9 to 10:30 prior to Mass.

The family suggests that donations may be made in his memory to Valley
Regional Hospital, Emergency Room Staff, 243 Elm Street, Claremont, NH 03743
or Good Sheppard Nursing Home, 20 Plantation Rd., Jaffrey, NH 03452.

Members of the Father Cote Council Knights of Columbus are asked to meet at
the Funeral Home Saturday morning at 10 AM for a prayer service.

Members of Father Cote Assembly Fourth Degree Honor Guard are asked to meet
at St Mary's Church for the Mass.
